Dr. Fantasia strives to provide restorative options for you that highlight the many advantages of a multitude of materials. Traditional fillings, tooth colored fillings, strength enhancing restorations such as “inlays” and “onlays” made of white porcelain, bonding resins, and gold each have qualities that enhance their placement and can be selected based on recommendations of our team. It is important for us to know your ideas about strength, cosmetics, and durability before recommending or choosing specific dental fillings
Tooth Colored (Composite) Fillings
Composite resin fillings have evolved over the last 20 years to provide an esthetic alternative to amalgam (silver) fillings. These materials, when used in conservative fillings on non-weight bearing areas of teeth, can provide excellent long term restorations with excellent esthetic results. They can be used in front teeth cavities as well as back teeth cavities which are small and easily accessible. These restorations have a shorter span of durability than amalgam fillings but are a necessity in any easily seen area of your smile.
