Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner

Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology has been revolutionizing many industries, including dentistry.  Dr. Fantasia uses the Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner to digitally capture images of patients’ teeth to assist with both diagnosis as well as the fabrication of dental crowns, bridges, and implant restorations.  Our Trios 5 system allows Dr. Fantasia in many cases to replace conventional impression methods with a clean, fast digital scan that is obtained through a series of photographic images taken in the mouth.  Combining this scanned data with our advanced software, our dental laboratory is able to design a quality, custom restorations handcrafted off site by a master dental ceramist for our patients, resulting in a natural-looking restoration of superior strength that perfectly matches the surrounding teeth!

The Trios 5 scanner is simple and effective.  When we use the Trios 5, we gently move the scanner throughout the mouth to capture a 3-dimensional image of the teeth and gums.  It’s wireless design allows us to move easily around the oral cavity to get a full image of the patient’s mouth, and the scan itself usually takes just a few minutes to complete!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE TRIOS 5 SCANNER?

There are many advantages of the Trios 5 over traditional dental impressions. The Trios 5 scanner offers:

  • Small and light design: The Trios 5 is much lighter than other scanners, which means we can easily hold and maneuver the scanner around the mouth.
  • Hygenic treatment: This scanner is simple to clean and contains an FDA-approved, sterilized tip with a microbial barrier.
  • Minimally invasive care: The Trios 5 intraoral scanner does not require messy putty and is much more comfortable than traditional impressions. It usually  takes just minutes to make a complete scan.
  • Accurate dental impressions: We take detailed, three-dimensional images of the teeth and gums that we can see on a computer screen. Our team can also re-scan portions of the smile to create the most complete picture possible.
